By installing or using Austin's Radar, you agree to these terms. If you don't, please uninstall the app.
The app
Austin's Radar ("the app") is an iOS application owned and operated by Austin Munday ("we", "us"). It displays weather radar imagery sourced from public datasets and from Rainbow.ai. The app is provided to you under a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to install and use it on devices you own.
Subscription
The app is free to download and use with a single banner advertisement at the top of the screen. An optional auto-renewing subscription removes the banner advertisement.
- Price: $19.99 USD per year, or local equivalent priced by Apple.
- Free trial: none.
- Renewal: the subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancel: manage or cancel any time in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; we cannot issue mid-period refunds — refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Payment: charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Apple processes all subscription payments. We never see your payment details.
Weather data is informational, not life-safety
The radar imagery in this app is sourced from third-party providers (NOAA MRMS for the United States, Rainbow.ai for the rest of the world). Imagery is delivered in near-real-time but can be delayed, incomplete, or missing during outages. Radar imagery does not depict every meteorological hazard — for example, tornadoes can be present without strong reflectivity signatures, and some hazards (lightning, hail, ice) require specialized products this app does not display.
Do not rely on this app as your only source of severe-weather information. For warnings, watches, and life-safety information, consult the National Weather Service (in the US) or your country's equivalent national meteorological service. We are not responsible for any damages, injury, or loss of life resulting from reliance on the imagery shown in this app.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: reverse-engineer or decompile the app except to the extent permitted by applicable law; use the app to violate any law; circumvent the subscription paywall; scrape, redistribute, or commercialize the radar tile data served from our servers.
Intellectual property
The app's source code, design, and brand are owned by Austin Munday. NOAA MRMS data is in the public domain. Rainbow.ai retains rights to its tiles, surfaced through their license to us. Apple Maps imagery is licensed from Apple. Open-source components are used under their respective licenses.
Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, accurate, or free from errors.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the subscription in the twelve months preceding the claim, or fifty US dollars, whichever is greater.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the app if you materially breach these terms. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it; your subscription continues until you cancel it through Apple.
Changes
We may update these terms. If the changes are material, we'll update the effective date and, where appropriate, surface the change in-app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction.
